SHOWER DOOR TERMS & CONDITIONS
SHOWER DOOR TERMS & CONDITIONS
Blueline Glass aims to design and install your unit with a snugly fitting installation. However, we cannot guarantee a perfect fit if the mounting surface is not level or if the tile contractor has performed poor workmanship. We will not be responsible for any structural damage to the wall or other mounting surface. Additionally, BLG will not be held responsible for any cracks that may occur on the surface material during the installation or removal of the existing enclosures.
All units require drilling holes in tile, marble, granite, and in some cases, notching bullnose or decorative border tiles. Occasionally, drilling into cast iron or fiberglass tubs is necessary to safely secure the unit. With glass tiles, BLG may recommend drilling through grout lines only to secure the enclosure. Glass, porcelain, and ceramic tiles may crack while drilling. Blueline Glass will not be held responsible to repair or replace any tiles that break due to normal drilling.
Any damage to the tile or surface during the removal of an existing unit or installation of a new unit must be corrected by the purchaser at their own expense. Shower bases/tubs with an incorrect pitch can cause water damage. An incorrectly pitched sill may drain water onto the outside floor.
Opening the door outward can cause water to drain down onto the bathroom floor. Correctly built stalls following quality construction will eliminate most of the above problems. Although the doors and enclosures are manufactured to fit given sizes, there may be steam or water leakage, especially in a direct spray situation. The purchaser is to take into consideration the positioning and aim of the showerhead(s), water pressure, body sprays, and any detachable shower sprayers.
Please keep in mind that a frameless shower is designed to deflect water, not retain it. All glass will be centered on the curb or tub unless otherwise specified in writing by BLG or the purchaser. Glass-hinged doors swing in and out unless the layout of the opening dictates otherwise.
BLG will not assume any liability due to unforeseen conditions like drilling into pipes that are hidden behind walls, where drilling is necessary. Therefore, BLG requests that the contractor or homeowner notify them before drilling if a pipe is in the area where a hole is needed. If notified before design and installation, BLG will redesign and work around the pipe.
It is important to note that all drawings done by BLG are not to scale. The sizes shown on the estimate are not exact.
Please be aware that all of our shower doors and enclosures are custom-made to fit your opening(s) specifications only. Once you sign off on the estimate and pay your deposit, no alterations can be made, as the sizes are sent directly to our fabricator to be custom-made.
It is important to keep in mind that units without a header may appear flimsy and can create movement or flex while opening and closing doors. Notching of decorative protruding tiles or structures may be done by our installers. However, BLG will not be held responsible for any leaking, damage, breakage, or flaws due to the process. BLG will not be responsible for any structural changes after final measurements have been taken. All additional manufacturing and material costs due to alterations will be charged to the purchaser.
Please note that all defects in the glass and hardware such as scratches, chips, etc., must be acknowledged within 48 hours of installation. The purchaser must email all photos of said defects to BLG. Small hair-like scratches are typical, as well as “dot-like” spots embedded within the glass. You, the purchaser, acknowledge that these flaws may be visible at any time, especially when a window is inside the shower or room.
REMOVALS:
If BLG needs to remove an existing enclosure, it is essential to note that BLG will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur to the walls, tiles, furniture, or any other items in the bathroom during the removal process. While we will make every effort to cover existing holes that were hidden behind the existing framed enclosure, please be aware that we cannot guarantee that all holes will be covered or filled. This is due to variations in conditions and configurations, as well as differences in thickness between larger framed metal enclosures and thinner frameless glass enclosures.
It is also important to note that after removing existing framed enclosures, you may see discoloration or stains on tile, cultured marble, marble, granite, and other surfaces. Such stains are common and BLG will not be responsible for removing them after the removal process. Finally, if you wish, we can dispose of the old enclosure at the time of removal.
GLASS:
Glass is a product that is made by humans. It is important to note that every piece of glass may contain defects or blemishes that may be visible to the naked eye. Even the best quality glass available in the market may contain minor flaws. However, the federal government mandates that no defects should be visible in the glass when it is viewed either vertically or horizontally from a distance of 11 feet away under normal lighting conditions. At BLG, all of our glass meets or even exceeds these standards set forth by the federal government.
It is also important to know that any remaking of glass as a result of normal blemishes will be based solely on the discretion of BLG and the industry-standard tolerance levels. Warping of glass is common and may occur during the tempering process, but it will remain within the accepted tempering association’s guidelines.
If you require specifications of the glass, you can request them from the purchaser.
Please note that there is an accepted cutting tolerance level in the glass manufacturing industry, and at BLG, all glass sizes can vary plus (+) or minus (-) up to 1/8”. If your glass is within these tolerance levels, BLG will not be responsible for any remakes of new glass whatsoever. Additionally, vertical gaps on doors may vary from 1/16 to 3/8 depending on the configuration. All pivot or wall-mounted doors will typically have a 3/8” to ½” gap on top and bottom. Vinyl seals are available free of charge only at the time of purchase or installation. However, after some time, the vinyl seals may discolor or deteriorate, and they are considered a Wear and Tear Item. Therefore, they will not be replaced by BLG unless paid for by the purchaser. If the purchaser wants BLG to deliver and install such seal (s), the purchaser will also be responsible for paying a minimum service fee of $150.00.
Lastly, it is essential to note that all glass has a greenish hue or tint due to the iron content in the glass. This greenish hue can vary due to the size and thickness of the glass. Low iron glass has a lesser greenish hue and can also vary due to the size and thickness of the glass. The shower enclosure glass is required to be tempered, and tempered logos may appear in any corner of the glass. If the purchaser does not want tempering logos, they must notify BLG in writing before the fabrication of the glass.
WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE:
All warranty claims are subject to inspection by BLG.
If any hardware fails or discolors within one year of the initial installation or receipt of goods, it will be replaced at no charge to the purchaser. However, if any hardware fails or discolors after one year of the initial installation, the purchaser will be responsible for a small service charge, which will be a minimum of $150.00. The amount of the charge will depend on the length of time to repair and the location of the job site.
Please note that hard coat finishes on hardware may vary from the selection due to the materials used. The hardware is made of brass, and the headers are made of steel and aluminum. Therefore, finishes may vary from time to time or have a different shade due to the use of different materials used per application. This is to be expected and not covered under warranty.
Never use an abrasive cleaner such as (Comet or similar) on our hardware. Many of the components are coated with clear lacquer that will be damaged if subjected to harsh, abrasive chemicals. Drying the hardware with a clean, soft towel daily is the best way to maintain it. If mineral deposits form on the hardware, mix a couple of drops of liquid soap into a cup of warm water. Clean the hardware using a soft, nonabrasive cloth, rinse thoroughly with clean, warm water, and dry.
Due to the inherent nature of brass, BLG does not warranty any polished brass finishes.
If any hardware or glass becomes loose or needs adjustment within one year of the installation by BLG we will repair it at no charge to the purchaser. After one year the purchaser will agree to pay a minimum service charge of $150.00 depending on the length of time to repair and the location of the job site.
BLG warrants leaks on its installations around fixed glass panels only for 90 days. If a leak occurs after 90 days, the purchaser will be subject to a minimum service fee of $150.00.
BLG is not responsible for any mold growing on silicone caulk or tile. Mold can occur from unclean areas or stagnant water.
ENDUROSHIELD & SHOWERGUARD COATINGS (OPTIONAL)
EnduroShield and ShowerGuard are two different coatings designed to protect shower glass from water stains and buildup. EnduroShield is a spray-on coating that is applied after the glass is manufactured. It creates a hydrophobic surface that repels water and prevents buildup. ShowerGuard, on the other hand, is a coating that is applied during the manufacturing process. It has a patented ion-beam process that permanently seals the surface of the glass, preventing water and minerals from penetrating.
Both coatings are durable and long-lasting, but ShowerGuard's permanent bond makes it more resistant to wear and tear over time. EnduroShield may need to be reapplied after several years of use. Both coatings require regular cleaning to maintain their effectiveness. EnduroShield is easier to clean because of its hydrophobic surface, while ShowerGuard may require more frequent cleaning with specialized cleaners to remove buildup.
When choosing between the two coatings, it ultimately comes down to personal preference and the specific needs of your bathroom. EnduroShield is generally less expensive than ShowerGuard because it is applied after the glass is manufactured. ShowerGuard is a more expensive option because it must be applied during the manufacturing process. Consider factors such as the coating process, performance, durability, maintenance, and cost to make an informed decision.

EnduroShield & ShowerGuard Care Instructions:
Note: These may damage the treatment and void any warranty.
Abrasives including water spot removers, toothpaste, polishes, Norwex Cloths, rough, or gritty substances.
Acids or Alkalis that you would not want in contact with your skin for an extended period
Cleaners that include Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), bleach, tilex, or anything with sodium hydroxide should not be used on your shower glass.
Harsh or chemical cleaners. With correct maintenance, these are not required.
Acceptable cleaning products:
While all that should be needed to keep the glass looking clean are a squeegee, good quality mild liquid soap, and white vinegar, occasionally we are asked to recommend specific products. Some major brand cleaners are listed below, but keep in mind they should not be necessary, and often have minimal benefits in removing either soap or mineral buildup.
It should be noted that with any cleaner used on the EnduroShield surface a thorough rinse with clean water should follow immediately. Although these cleaners can be used instead of the suggested maintenance, EnduroShield is designed to be an ‘easy clean coating’ which requires only vinegar and/or a mild detergent that does not contain harsh or toxic chemicals to maintain the surface effectively.
Approved Squeegees:
We recommend Oxo good grips, Ettore, or Pulux branded squeegees due to the high-quality rubber blade.
